Is the crane equipped with double linkage, radio remote control, XP device...? To which crane class does it belong? In the name of the crane, it is all explained

Our technical blog is intended to explain to our customers and readers, in an easy way, extra technical information that can help them in the process of choosing or understanding the performance offered by a crane when thinking of buying one. For this reason, on this occasion, following our last month post, we want to talk about how the Fassi crane model name gives information about important features. Fassi cranes are classified in the following divisions: ACTIVE, E-ACTIVE, DYNAMIC, E-DYNAMIC, XE-DYNAMIC, HE-DYNAMIC and XHE-DYNAMIC. These names respond to technical characteristics, specific equipment that has the crane, lifting power capacities and more details that we will revise in this post.

As mentioned in the previous article, the name of each crane gives us information at first instance. The starting point is the basic model crane which then is subclassified to allow the recognition of the features, making easier the process in all areas. Here below are the sub-classifications:

Active: within this group are the cranes without linkage (version ”0”), with dual side manual ground control stations and CE safety devices. HC1 HD4 S2 lifting class according to EN 12999:2011 standards.

E-active: these are the cranes without linkage (version ”0”), one side manual ground control station, RCH/RCS radio remote control, XP device (where required) and CE safety devices. HC1 HD4 S2 lifting class according to EN 12999:2011 standards.

Dynamic: range of cranes with linkages (version ”1”-single linkage and ”2”-double linkage), dual side manual ground control stations and CE safety devices. HC1 HD4 S2 lifting class according to EN 12999:2011 standards.

E-dynamic: range of cranes with linkages (version ”1”-single linkage and ”2”-double linkage), one side manual ground control station or emergency manual control at column side, RCH/RCS radio remote control, XP device (where required) and CE safety devices. HC1 HD4 S2 lifting class according to EN 12999:2011 standards.

Xe-dynamic: range of cranes with linkages (version ”1”-single linkage and ”2”-double linkage), one side manual ground control station or emergency manual control at column side, RCH/RCS radio remote control, XP device and CE safety devices. HC1 HD5 S2 lifting class according to EN 12999:2011 standards.

He-dynamic: related to heavy duty crane range over 50 tn. with linkages (version “2”-double linkage), continuous rotation, RCH/RCS radio remote control, outriggers controlled by radio, XP device (where required) and CE safety devices. HC1 HD4 S2 lifting class according to EN 12999:2011 standards.

Xhe-dynamic: and finally this is related to heavy duty crane range over 50 tn. with linkages (version “2”-double linkage), continuous rotation, RCH/RCS radio remote control, outriggers controlled by radio, XP device, CE* safety devices, touch screen colour display and carbon look carter. HC1 HD5 S2 lifting class according to EN 12999:2011 standards.

Without a doubt, each of these classifications and groups achive their purpose of organizing our wide range of cranes, as well as clarifying the usefulness, characteristics and possibilities that they have. Our supplier Fassi has created this mechanism to  facilitate all the processes from the advice for the purchase of a new crane, to the classification for maintenance of an existing one.
