REVIEW OF THE TECHNICAL IMPROVEMENTS ACHIEVED IN THE FASSI CRANES IN 2019

  • Fassi crane in Transgruas

Thanks to the great competitiveness and demand of the Spanish crane operators and our determination to offer the best possible crane to each client, we can announce the improvements incorporated to the Fassi cranes in the last year

There are many factors that intervene in the performance of truck cranes: the crane itself and its configuration, the truck and the limits that the truck brand marks in terms of distribution of total and axle loads, the bodywork or final tipper and the type of mounting that is carried out. In Transgrúas we have a technical mounting team with great experience and technical knowledge that solves with solvency any type of mounting and parameting of the cranes once mounted, always taking into account the specific need of the client in each crane. With this concept in mind, the technical evolution of crane assembly adds to Fassi's own manufacturing improvements, having improved all these aspects in the last year:

  • Increase of the speed of the cranes up to 100% in some movements, thanks to the new softwares developed by Fassi and to the technical calibration.
  • New work areas in the front of the truck: the area in front of the truck cabin is always the most critical point in a cargo maneuver. We have been able to differentiate lateral zones in the front part with greater load power. This point is the result of the experience on the work that we carry out from Transgrúas, accompanying clients to verify the behavior of the crane and understand first hand what they need. This has opened our minds and allowed Fassi to develop electronic technology to improve crane performance by discriminating work areas.
  • We have inmplemented training service in the use of the crane on site: before the delivery of the crane, load tests are carried out in our field, where the ground conditions are optimal. In cases of deliveries of large cranes that work in civil works or infrastructure, we reinforce tests with the crane working in the real field to ensure that the client takes full advantage of the crane's performance. Some tests tests on the usual "terrain" of our customers make a difference when facing maneuver difficulties that in a workshop are different to appreciate.
  • Mountings evolution:
  • 1) self-supporting assemblies: designed for medium / high range cranes on any type of truck. The main advantage of the self-supporting assembly is that the truck does not absorb the torsion of the load effort, but the assembly structure itself does, leaving the chassis free of this effort. Greater load power is achieved with less extension of the stabilizers.
  • 2) standard assemblies: we have redesigned and structurally improved the assembly, reducing weight and increasing stability.
  • 3) sandwich assemblies: we have also resided these assemblies for cranes that require greater stability, for example: 2-axle tractors in which we have mounted cranes of 40-42 tn / m with 8 hydraulic extensions without the need for counterweights.
  • Expres assemblies: we have implemented this express service for the changes of assembly from old truck to new truck, to minimize the time in which the client runs out of crane. What we do is disassemble the crane from the old truck, we present it to take measurements and advance the assembly without the truck. This maneuver can take a morning of work (approximately 4 hours).
  • "Eco" option: we offer the possibility of preparing an electric group to work independently of the truck engine and thus reduce CO2 emissions to 0%. The group works plugged into the three-phase horn. This is something that can be fitted to both new and old cranes.

We face 2020 with new challenges and continuous improvement goals in our customer service that add to the product improvements that Fassi foresees for this year. The SMOPYC fair to be held in Zaragoza from April 1 to 4 will be a good opportunity to visit the Transgruas stand and see the technical news explained here. We will be happy to greet you, we will be in the outdoor area, at booth # 60.
