JMG CRANES UNVEILS ITS HYDROGEN-POWERED MC250.09FL FORKLIFT
We'll see the future of industrial lifting at the upcoming GIS trade show.
Our supplier JMG Cranes is taking a historic step towards sustainability and we look forward to seeing you at our next visit to the GIS trade fair in Piacenza Expo (Italy) from September 25th to 27th.
JMG Cranes has officially unveiled the first prototype of its innovative hydrogen-powered MC250.09FL forklift. This milestone marks the beginning of a new era in industrial lifting, with commercialization expected in 2026.
Pioneering technology for efficiency
The new version of the MC250.09FL integrates a state-of-the-art fuel cell system that combines:
- FCH 96V module with PEFC (Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell) technology
- 144 cells capable of delivering 20 kW of constant power each
- 6 kg hydrogen tank at 350 bar
- 30 kWh lithium buffer battery
- 6 kg hydrogen tank at 350 bar
Exceptional operating advantages
Extended autonomy: The combined operation of the lithium battery and fuel cell offers 5-6 hours of operating autonomy, far exceeding the 2 hours of battery life alone.
Ultra-fast refueling: It only takes 5 minutes to fully fill the hydrogen tank from a 450-bar charging point, compared to 9 hours for traditional electric recharging.
Full compatibility: The hydrogen system is interchangeable with the original lead-acid system, maintaining the same dimensions, weight, and mechanical connections.
Guaranteed operational flexibility
The machine features an intelligent system that activates the fuel cell only when the lithium battery drops below a certain threshold. Furthermore, in the absence of hydrogen, the lithium battery can be recharged in 90 minutes using on-board chargers, providing 2-3 hours of autonomy.
A commitment to a sustainable future
This innovation confirms JMG Cranes' leadership in the energy transition for industrial lifting. The MC250.09FL hydrogen represents a flexible, scalable solution perfectly suited for intensive work cycles, significantly reducing downtime and emissions.
At Transgrúas, we are proud to have suppliers like JMG Cranes who are committed to innovation and sustainability, offering our customers the most advanced technologies on the market.
