TRANSGRÚAS AT THE PREMIERE OF JMG’S M SERIES
We organized a trip to Germany with clients for the global unveiling.
On September 29 and 30, JMG Cranes presented its new M Series at the Hanselmann GmbH headquarters in Crailsheim, Germany, under the slogan "Defying Gravity – An Experience Beyond Limits." Transgrúas organized a trip for several of our clients to attend the launch, with Karen and Ian Trenzano representing the company.
JMG’s first presentation outside Italy
This marks the first time JMG has unveiled a new product range outside Italy. The brand chose Hanselmann—its representative in the German market for years—as the host venue. Attendees were able to view the machines and their various configurations, as well as speak directly with the JMG team, led by Director Maurizio Manzini.
JMG M Series pick-and-carry cranes: five models, ranging from 5 to 50 tonnes
The range consists of five electric, radio-controlled pick-and-carry cranes:
- MC15.08: 5 t. Ultra-compact; designed for industrial maintenance and indoor installations.
- MC50.08: 10 t. A balance between capacity and maneuverability.
- MC100.08: 15 t. Features up to three boom configurations.
- MC180.08: 30 t.
- MC250.08: 50 t. The series' flagship model, featuring up to 5 removable counterweights.
- MC50.08: The star of the launch
The MC50.08 was one of the models that attracted the most attention during the presentation. It has a maximum hook capacity of 10 tonnes and dimensions of 3,100 × 1,380 × 1,940 mm. Its main features include:
- 20 kW, 80 V AC electric drive system, featuring two 6.5 kW traction motors.
- 80 V – 805 Ah battery.
- Interchangeable booms with 1 or 2 hydraulic extensions.
- Extendable boom section (up to 700 mm) with proportional load capacity calculation.
- Two removable counterweights, 1,600 kg each.
- With forks: 7 t at 600 mm or 5 t at 800 mm.
- Modular design at its core
All models in the series support field-interchangeable hydraulic telescopic booms and detachable counterweights to facilitate transport. Standard features include:
- Front-wheel drive with counter-rotation capability.
- Rear-wheel steering (±90°).
- Boom head adjustable to three positions (0° / +40° / +80°).
- Load Moment Indicator (LMI).
Optional equipment includes a hydraulic winch, a mechanical or hydraulic jib with extension, a mechanical boom extension, and hydraulic forks.
Actual working capacity of JMG pick-and-carry cranes
JMG has emphasized that maximum capacity is not the only relevant figure. The decisive factor is how much the machine can lift at a distance of 2 or 3 meters from its front, as these represent typical operating conditions. The M Series was developed in compliance with new European regulatory requirements, incorporating an additional 33% margin in design and validation. JMG has also announced that it is working on higher-capacity models, with developments reaching up to 65 tonnes at a 2-meter reach. Transgrúas and JMG
The Spanish market is showing growing interest in electric pick-and-carry cranes.
