THE BILBAO METRO INCORPORATES THE FIRST 100% ELECTRIC FASSI CRANE WITH HST (Hybrid Smart Technology)

A pioneering project developed in collaboration with Cogrúas.

First fully electric Fassi articulated hydraulic crane: Official presentation at the Bilbao Metro workshops in Sopela

Last Thursday, November 13th, we delivered the Fassi F195A.0.25 e-active knuckle boom crane with Hybrid Smart Technology (HST), a milestone in sustainable industrial mobility. The official presentation of the first fully electric Fassi articulated hydraulic crane equipped with Hybrid Smart Technology (HST), supplied by Transgrúas through our representative in Asturias, Cogrúas, took place at the Bilbao Metro workshops in Sopela.

Mounting on a Restored Railcar: A Custom Engineering Project

The Fassi F195A.0.25 e-active truck-mounted crane was installed on a fully restored 1990s subway railcar. Cogrúas developed a specific false frame onto which the crane was mounted and also incorporated an auxiliary hydraulic rescue system to guarantee operational continuity in the event of any power failure.

Fassi HST: 100% Electric Operation with Full-Day Autonomy

The system is powered by an electric pump connected to two lithium batteries (48V–51V), with two chargers for 16A and 32A outlets. It can operate connected to the mains or in battery mode, with an autonomy equivalent to 80% of a workday. Intelligent software optimizes consumption and allows recharging during use and transport.

HST System: Zero Emissions, Minimal Noise, and Regulatory Compliance

HST technology allows for zero-emission and minimal-noise operation, complying with the electromagnetic compatibility standards of UN/ECE R10 regulations. This makes it an ideal solution for urban environments and enclosed spaces such as subway tunnels.
